Julio R. San Martin, M.D.
Dr. San Martin came to the U.S. at the age of 10 from Cuba. He received a B.S. in Biology from Georgia College. He went on to receive his M.D. Degree from Cetec University in the Dominican Republic. His residency training was at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been in private practice since 1991, and came to the Haines City area in 1995. He is married with two children. |

Edwin M. Salamanca, M.D.
Dr. Salamanca received his B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. He went on to receive his M.D. Degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His residency training was at the Catholic Medical Center, New York, Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. (affiliated with Cornell University); and Ponce Regional Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He practiced OB/GYN with the Air Force for three years, and had been in private practice since 1993 in Lake Wales before joining Heart Of Florida OB/GYN in 1998. He is married with three children. |

Mark Alkass, M.D.
Dr. Alkass received his B.A. in Biology from Drew University in New Jersey. He went on to receive his M.D. Degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His residency training was at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He has been in private practice since 1995 and moved to the Haines City area in 1997. He received his Board Certification in 1998. He is married with four children.

Edmund Andah, M.D
Dr. Edmund Andah received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Ghana in Africa. He went on to complete his residency and training through Cambridge University in England, where he became a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Andah & his family moved to the United States where he completed a second residency at the University of Connecticut and became a Resident Member of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. His family then moved to central Florida where he joined Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in August 2006. He is married with 2 children |

Theresa Coley-Kouadio
Theresa Coley-Kouadio received her B.A. from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. She attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she received her B.S.N. in 1993 and also her M.S.N., nurse mid-wifery in 1995. She has worked for community health centers, birthing centers, private practice, as well as on the faculty for East Carolina University. She began practice with Heart of Florida OB/GYN in November 2004. She lives in Davenport with her family. |
Margaret “Peggy” Bruno, CNM, ARNP
Peggy received her RN at the Westchester School of Nursing in Valhalla, New York in 1976. She worked as a nurse for several years in different areas of medicine while raising her children but later returned for her midwifery certification at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in 1998. She moved to the central Florida area in 2006 and began practice with Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in May 2007. She is married with 3 children.
Nancy Zaharis, CNM, ARNP
Nancy Zaharis received her A.S. degree in Nursing in 1982 from Miami-Dade Community College. She worked mainly in labor and delivery for several years until deciding to return to school and obtained her certification in nurse midwifery in 1993 from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She has many years of experience in labor and delivery and came to the central Florida area in 2005, where she joined Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in October 2007. Nancy is married with one son.
