We offer surgical sterilization and sterilization with Essure, which does not require an incision. If you're pregnant and having a cesarean section, we can combine your sterilization with that procedure. Sterilization is designed to be a permanent procedure for women who are sure they're done having children. In surgical sterilization, we close the fallopian tubes in one of several ways: cutting, sealing them with an electric current or closing them with clamps, clips, rings, or removal of the tubes. With the Essure procedure, we place tiny inserts in the fallopian tubes, and tissue grows around the inserts and blocks the tubes.
