Susie completed her Associates Degree in nursing in 1994 from Redlands College in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a med-surg and emergency room nurse for some time, and in 1996, began working as a labor delivery nurse where she found her calling. She then returned to college at Florida Southern University in Lakeland, Florida, where she received her Bachelors Degree in nursing in 2005 so that she could continue on to Frontier School of Midwifery Family Nursing to become a midwife. She succeeded in finishing her degree in July 2008 and she joined Heart of Florida Ob/Gyn in October of the same year. Susie has 3 children.

LeAnn Long received her bachelors degree in biology from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, in 2003. She then continued her education and completed a second Bachelor's Degree in nursing in 2005 from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then worked as a labor & delivery/post-partum nurse for 8 years all the while, continuing her education. She completed her masters degree and received her midwifery certification from the University of Cincinnati in 2012. She joined Heart of Florida OB/GYN in the spring 2013.
